The brief
An advertising awards event needed one place where agencies could submit and pay for entries, where the jury could vote, and where organisers could pull reports.
What I built
I designed and built it as a plain PHP and MySQL app, no WordPress: entry forms, a payment step, jury voting and an admin area with reports.

Challenges
Problem. Real money and real votes, for an event that only lasts a few weeks.
Solution. I kept it small and plain so every step was easy to check and fix while the event was live.
Takeaway
A good reminder that you don't always need a framework.
